A pan card, without a doubt is a critical document for Indians. And when applying for the same, one of the easiest and the best ways to proceed with is using Aadhaar card. This is because Aadhaar card serves to be a supporting document. However, there’s a limitation here. If your mobile number is linked to your Aadhaar card, only then it is possible to proceed further. The reason being simple – you get a one-time password (OTP) that needs to be entered while you proceed with the application. Then how do we deal with a situation wherein your mobile phone isn’t linked? The further processing isn’t possible because of the OTP related constraints. Well, you need not worry about this anymore. Here, we’ll talk about how can you deal with this issue and apply for a pan card without having to worry about OTP that’s sent to your Aadhaar-linked number.
- The very first step that you need to follow is to open Google (or any search engine). Go for the official website that allows you to apply for a pan card online.
- The website is Tax Information Network. Here, you’ll find that form 49 is to be filled in order to apply for a pan card.
- Read about it in depth and then click on ‘Apply’. On opening this form, the first option is where you have to select the application type. It is here that you need to select the option of pan card. Beside this, you are asked to choose the category. Depending on your preference, select the category.
- The next step involves filling details about the applicant. This is followed by a captcha. Enter all of this, read the terms and conditions, and then click on submit.
- Then you’ll see your token number being displayed on the screen. Note it down for future reference. Click on continue.
- The next step is the most critical step. This is because if you do not have your mobile number linked to Aadhaar, this step is to be paid special attention. You’ll be asked a question about how do you want to submit the documents. There are three options for this. Now that you do not want to deal with Aadhaar OTP, the best option to choose here is the third one which is forwarding the application documents physically.
- After this, you are required to enter your Aadhaar card details, choosing whether a physical copy of pan card is required or not, full details of the applicant, parent details, etc.
- The next step is filling details about the source of income, residential address, email id, etc.
- Following this is yet another crucial step, filling the AO code. However, this isn’t an issue as the help section provided below does the job. Fill in the required details to get your AO code. Click on next.
- Now, you will have to select the list of supporting documents. Check everything and click on ‘proceed’. These documents will have to be sent to the Income tax department later.
- The last step is that of payment. Choose the method that you want and you’re done!
